Welcome to my Creative World
I am obsessed with the creative process and love getting my hands dirty, working with different materials and basically trying it all. I love the smell of paint, the feeling of a brush in my hands and getting completely immersed in my art. I paint the things I know and love; the ocean, a grouping of trees near my house, my cats, plants and trinkets, a vase of flowers with fresh fruit. I love fresh color, bold shapes and painterly brushwork. I approach all of my subjects with a sense of curiosity. I ask myself…”what if…?” And follow that question which leads me on a creative quest. This approach has lead me to so many beautiful people, places and ideas that I explore through through my work.
Upcoming Exhibition
I am thrilled to announce that my painting, “Long Winter Shadows” has been accepted into the 2026 Cannon Biennial Exhibition, “Everywhere Home” located at the Cannon Art Gallery in Carlsbad, CA. The exhibit runs from October 23, 2026-January 2, 2027. I will be at the artist reception on November 7, 2026 from 3-5PM. In 2022 my husband and I moved out of Los Angeles to the beach town of Carlsbad. I am surrounded by an endless source of inspiration and spend a lot of time looking at the light, especially at the lagoon near my house. This painting was one of those moments. The long winter shadows lead me right to my favorite cluster of trees, set against a stunning sky. I had fun adding my own shadow into the mix as well. The gallery is located at: 1775 Dove Lane. This painting is 30”x48”, oil on canvas.
New little florals!
During this transition, I have found that working small allows me to feel free and accomplished while keeping my creative juices flowing. I have been referring to these little gouache/collage paintings as “SEEDS” since they have been giving me so much joy and ideas for larger work. I do plan to release these new works at some point but for now, it feels good to see them all around the house. I have added bits of patterned papers into the paintings which adds a playfulness that I am loving. If you would like advance notice on when they will become available please join my mailing list!
